ClusterControl provides an additional layer of backup management on top of popular technology-specific tools that are controlled and configured through a simple-to-use user interface (GUI). These tools include: Percona XtraBackup, MariaDB Backup, mysqldump, pg_dump, pg_basebackup, mongodump, MongoDB Consistent Backup, MySQL NDB Backup.
Automatic Restore Verification
Allows users to set up a server with the same requirements as their primary one; and define the backup parameters and whether the test server should become visible in the ClusterControl GUI for long term or just temporarily. ClusterControl runs backups on a new server and several tests to ensure everything works. The server then remains or is removed based on what option was chosen. ClusterControl allows you to run a “test restore” on your backup and runs several backend processes to ensure that the backup is valid and ready for restoration.
Cloud Backup Integration
ClusterControl provides full integration with the top cloud hosting providers to store database backups in the cloud. From the ClusterControl GUI backups can be executed, scheduled, downloaded and restored directly from your cloud provider of choice. This means you can leverage, for your archiving needs, the same scalable, reliable, fast, inexpensive data storage architectures used by Amazon, Google and Azure.
Backup Encryption
Backups performed by ClusterControl are encrypted at rest using the AES-256 CBC algorithm. An auto-generated key is stored in the cluster's configuration file under /etc/cmon.d. The backed up files are then transferred in encrypted format.

Backup GUI
The ClusterControl GUI allows you to define, track and report on the backup process regardless of technology. The scheduler then lets you define retention, set auto-deletion, and maintain both local disk and cloud backups using separate timers. The ClusterControl Backup GUI also allows you to specify specific names for your backups.
