Vinay Joosery, Chief Executive Officer & co-founder
Vinay is a passionate advocate and builder of concepts and business around Big Data computing infrastructures.
Prior to co-founding Severalnines, Vinay held the post of Vice-President EMEA at Pentaho Corporation - the Open Source BI leader. He has also held senior management roles at MySQL / Sun Microsystems / Oracle, where he headed the Global MySQL Telecoms Unit, and built the business around MySQL's High Availability and Clustering product lines. Prior to that, Vinay served as Director of Sales & Marketing at Ericsson Alzato, an Ericsson-owned venture focused on large scale real-time databases.
Johan Andersson, Chief Technology Officer & co-founder
Johan's technical background and interest are in high performance computing as demonstrated by the work he did on main-memory clustered databases at Ericsson as well as his research on parallel Java Virtual Machines at Trinity College Dublin in Ireland.
Prior to co-founding Severalnines, Johan was Principal Consultant and lead of the MySQL Clustering & High Availability consulting group at MySQL / Sun Microsystems / Oracle, where he designed and implemented large-scale MySQL systems for key customers.
Johan is a regular speaker at MySQL User Conferences as well as other high profile community gatherings with popular talks and tutorials around architecting and tuning MySQL Clusters.
Jean-Jérôme Schmidt, Vice President of Marketing
Jean-Jérôme is a builder of communities, be they for developers, prospects, customers or partners. He joined Severalnines to do just that: build and support the growing Severalnines Community.
Prior to joining Severalnines, Jean-Jérôme was Director of EMEA Marketing at Pentaho Corporation, where he introduced and built an international marketing function for the region. He has also held senior management positions at Sage Technologies (Sage CRM) with responsibility for Strategic Accounts Management Europe, as well as at MySQL / Sun Microsystems in Global Sales Operations. Prior to that, Jean-Jérôme was Commercial Director at a leading direct marketing agency, where he ran its Irish operation.
Alexander Yu, Vice President of Products
Alex has been in technology ever since he laid his hands on a VIC-20 and brings experience in product management and software development.
Prior to Severalnines, Alex was Master Principal Sales Consultant at MySQL/Sun Microsystems/Oracle in the APAC region, where he worked with some of the regions largest telecoms service providers and network equipment manufacturers to build massively scalable database infrastructures.
He previously held key development roles in various startups, and was part of the original development team at Ericsson Alzato who developed NDB Cluster (which MySQL acquired in 2003, and is today known as MySQL Cluster).
Alex is based in Tokyo, Japan.
Gerry Treacy, Vice President of Sales
Gerry is a sales leader with a track record of leading and building sales teams at high growth software companies. This includes over 10 years experience in senior sales management roles at high profile open source database companies.
Before Severalnines, Gerry spent five years at MongoDB, where as the first employee outside of the US, he started the business in EMEA. He then went on to grow and lead the corporate sales for the EMEA and APAC regions. Prior to MongoDB, Gerry led the MySQL corporate sales group at Oracle, including for both the EMEA region and globally.
Veemal Gungadin, Cloud Architect
Veemal is a serial entrepreneur who brings a depth of experience to Severalnines, having previously held senior roles in product management and software development.
He is a director at GlobalSignIn, a start-up he founded in 2006 and which he turned into a profitable enterprise, servicing multinational companies such as Sony, Citibank and NEC.
Veemal is a Computer Science graduate from the National University of Singapore.
Åke is the Managing Partner of SICS (Swedish Institute of Computer Science) Startup Accelerator and coordinator of the KTH-SICS (Royal Institute of Technology - Swedish Institute of Computer Science) Cloud Innovation Center in Sweden. Before joining KTH and SICS, he was Chief Architect for Worldwide Customer Services at Sony Ericsson. Åke is a senior researcher in the field of entrepreneurship and innovation in distrbuted computing, with a long working experience in related startups.
Lars is COO at Neo Technology. He has more than 15 years of entrepreneurial leadership and management of diverse, fast growing businesses with a multi-bilion dollar IPO as a result. Before joining Neo, Lars was SVP of Business Development followed by SVP of Worldwide Sales at Pentaho Corporation, where he orchestrated a company turn-around with 100%+ annual bookings growth. Prior to Pentaho, Lars was VP of Worldwide Sales at SugarCRM, where he ramped the firm from an unknown start-up to a global business with over 4,000 customers. He was also Senior Director and Head of the Worldwide Business Intelligence Practice at Cambridge Technology Partners (CTP).
Lars holds an MS in Mechanical Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and has completed an Executive Education Program at Harvard Business School.
